Higonokami x 1924us
Higonokami x 1924us
We are immensely proud here at 1924us to announce the release of our Japanese forged Higonokami pocket knives. Each knife is hand forged by a 5th generation master blacksmith and marked with the signature of the maker, Mitsuo Nagao. The original Higonokami knife was made in 1894, and 5 generations later, this is how it's forged. Made completely in Japan.
We have taken this project to the next level with an incredible limitation on production, as well as phenomenal packaging design for both knives.
We designed these to be the highest possible quality for an affordable pocket knife. The friction plate joinery is of unmatched quality. Both knives are made with a high blue and white steel and solid brass handles. Both Knives feature "FAITH" and "HONOR" on either side of the handles.
Each knife comes in two blade types:
The "Kengata" blade is made of a Shirogami cutlery steel, some of the very best pure carbon steels, these are excellent for their sharpness and are incredibly useful in the field. The "Kengata" blade looks more like a sword/katana than a pocket knife.
The "Standard" is made of an Aogami cutlery steel, an excellent high carbon blade which are built for high end knives. Though this is a remarkable knife, it is the lesser of the two. However it is preferred dependent on need or liking.
